Canine Syndecan-1 in Critically Ill Dogs With and Without Kidney Injury

Canine syndecan-1 in critically ill dogs with and without kidney injury

The purpose of this study is to look at blood and urine measurements of syndecan-1 (a potential blood marker of kidney injury) in critically ill dogs. We are looking to see if these values are higher in dogs that have evidence of sudden kidney disease due to their sepsis compared to dogs that are sick but do not have evidence of kidney injury. This will possibly help us identify dogs that are at risk for kidney disease due to sepsis.
